Bond's Dynamics 365 Integration
Integrate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations with Bond to streamline treasury operations, enhance financial visibility, and automate intercompany workflows across your global entities. Through a single API gateway, clients gain seamless access to more than 20,000 global financial counterparties including banks, PSPs, FX brokers, and liquidity providers — directly from within Bond.
Overview
Bond's integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations bridges the gap between your ERP and treasury, creating a unified financial operations layer. The integration eliminates manual data transfers, reduces reconciliation effort, and enables treasury teams to operate with real-time data from Dynamics — rather than relying on end-of-day exports or periodic data dumps.
Whether you're running Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, or the combined Finance & Operations suite, Bond maps directly to your existing legal entity structure, chart of accounts, and financial dimensions to deliver a seamless experience.

Integration architecture
Bond integrates with Dynamics 365 through Microsoft's OData REST APIs and the Data Management Framework (DMF). The connection leverages Azure Active Directory for authentication, using service principal credentials with the minimum required permissions.
- Real-time sync: Critical data such as bank transaction confirmations, payment statuses, and intercompany journal entries are synchronized in real time via OData APIs.
- Batch processing: High-volume data sets such as AP/AR aging reports, general ledger trial balances, and historical transaction data are processed through DMF for optimal performance.
- Event-driven updates: Bond listens for business events from Dynamics 365 — such as invoice approvals, payment proposals, and journal postings — to trigger treasury workflows automatically.
How it works — Data flows
Dynamics connects to Bond via Azure AD authentication, with service principal tokens stored in Bond to enable ongoing integration. Data flows bidirectionally between Dynamics, Bond, and the banking network.
From Dynamics, outbound data such as journals, payment files, and bulk payment runs flow into Bond, where they are processed and enriched before being routed to banks and third-party providers. In the opposite direction, inbound data including status updates, payment confirmations, bank statements, and account metadata flows from banks into Bond, which passes structured data back into Dynamics.
Inbound: Dynamics → Bond
Bond retrieves master data and transactional data from Dynamics via OData APIs. Key inbound data includes legal entities, chart of accounts, financial dimensions, AP/AR transactions, vendors, customers, and exchange rates.
Outbound: Bond → Dynamics
Bond validates vendor data, bank details, payment limits, currency rules, and segregation-of-duties requirements, then applies multi-level approvals. Only once approvals are complete does Bond update Dynamics with the appropriate status and execute the payment through its bank connectors.
Journal entries
Bond posts payments, receipts, FX gains/losses, interest accruals, bank fees, intercompany settlements, and loan/investment accounting. Each journal supports multi-entity, multi-currency, multi-dimension, custom field population, and auto-reversal where required.
Integration engines
Bond's integration layer is composed of five purpose-built engines that work together to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and operational reliability.
Mapping Engine
Legal entities, COA, financial dimensions, payment types, custom fields, and journals.
Transformation Engine
GL formatting, currency conversion, date/period formatting, and data entity standardisation.
Validation Engine
Required fields, accounting rules, debit/credit balancing, and duplicate checking.
Scheduling Engine
Real-time, batch, or event-driven runs with automatic retries and incremental or full syncs.
Monitoring & Logging
API request/response logs, error alerts, posting status returns, and a complete audit trail.
Implementation methodology
Bond follows a structured five-step implementation process for Dynamics 365 integrations, ensuring a smooth and reliable go-live.
Discovery
Review legal entity structure, chart of accounts, financial dimensions, and payment workflows.
Azure AD Setup
Configure service principal, register application, and set OData API permissions.
Bond Configuration
Build mapping tables, configure routing rules, and set up data entity sync schedules.
Testing
Unit testing of individual data flows plus end-to-end validation of complete treasury workflows.
Go Live
Production deployment with hypercare monitoring, performance tuning, and dedicated support.
Intercompany management
For organisations using Dynamics 365's intercompany accounting capabilities, Bond extends this with treasury-grade intercompany management. When Bond processes intercompany loans, netting settlements, or cash pool movements, it automatically generates the corresponding intercompany journal entries in Dynamics — including proper elimination entries and financial dimension tagging.
Bond also automates the creation of intercompany loan documentation, interest calculations, and transfer pricing support documentation — all linked back to the underlying Dynamics transactions for a complete audit trail.
Security & Azure AD
The integration authenticates through Azure Active Directory using service principal credentials with role-based access control. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+ and at rest using AES-256. The integration respects Dynamics 365 security roles and data policies, ensuring that Bond only accesses data appropriate for treasury operations. A complete audit log of all API interactions is maintained for compliance purposes.
